Childbirth Class Dates:

Feb. 4 & 5, 2005 (Available alone or in conjunction with the Labor Doula Trainings.)
Apr. 15 & 16, 2005
Sept. 23 & 24, 2005

All classes are held in one-day sessions from 9am-4pm. The cost is $65.00. Must pre-register and pre-pay.

To further prepare families for their pregnancy, labor and birth, we offer:

private childbirth classes in your home (great for moms on bedrest)

one-day marathons

group classes (limited to no more than 7 couples or 14 moms)

Group Classes

In the Beginning: A Healthy Pregnancy (1st & 2nd trimester)
Choices In Childbirth (3rd trimester)
This is a traditional childbirth preparation class which incorporates Lamaze teaching and other popular educational childbirth techniques.
And Baby Makes Three: Postpartum Adjustment & Newborn Care.
This class uses discussion and hands-on practice to teach the emotional and physical changes of the mother and the physical and mental development of her newborn. We also teach basic newborn care.
How to Write Your Custom-Made Birth Plan
Our childbirth educators and staff attorney collaborated to develop the effective drafting and negotiation techniques of the all-important birth plan. This class uses education and humor to present the art of creating and negotiating a birth plan that works for you.
For Those Who Want More: Doula Assisted Births and Tried and True Comfort Measures (2nd & 3rd trimester)
This class is free and is offered bi-monthly. Contact us for scheduled times and to register.
Expecting Getaway at Hutchinson Island
A great way to take your childbirth preparation class while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere on a private beach and special time as a couple before the baby arrives! (2nd & 3rd trimester), a great refresher class. The cost includes the course and materials, one nights’ stay and continental breakfast. This course is offered the last weekend of every month and is $250. Massage is taught by candlelight with a class component dedicated to “baby proofing” your marriage.
HypnoBirthing Childbirth Classes (2nd & 3rd trimester)
Learn and enjoy a safer, easier and more satisfying labor and birth! Yes, it’s true and it can and has been done time and time again. This childbirth class is perfect for those couples seeking to learn relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques to eliminate fear and tension that causes long labor and pain, and instead replacing pain with confidence, calm and comfort. The techniques learned in
this childbirth class become good life-long habits.

We associate with other educators to provide additional classes. As a community service, we also offer free workshops and classes to our neighbors and community members. Please contact us to find out about our current schedule of workshops and classes.
